What You'll Do
Support the design, development, and maintenance of Bronze, Silver, and Gold layer pipelines in Azure Databricks using PySpark and SQL
Contribute to Kimball-style dimensional models (fact and dimension tables) that serve internal MST teams, including actuarial, underwriting, claims, and reinsurance
Build data quality checks and validation logic that keep Lakehouse data accurate, timely, and trustworthy
Contribute to internal automation tooling and Claude skills that speed up recurring data engineering workflows, always with a human-in-the-loop approach
Document technical work clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Utilize Git and GitHub for version control, code review, and collaborative development under the SCRUM framework
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science or a related field
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark
Familiarity with the Databricks platform
Familiarity with Kimball-style dimensional modeling
Hands-on familiarity with Claude Code and the broader Claude ecosystem
Familiarity with Git and version-controlled development workflows
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous business questions into technical solutions
Job Requirements/Qualifications
Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science or a closely related field
Databricks certification: Data Engineer Associate or higher
Research experience, preferably with publications
Nice to Have
Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900)
Experience with a BI tool
Exposure to the insurance industry. Not required, as you'll pick up the business side through the data itself
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, specifically SCRUM
