RoleWeek

Follow new roles

Each RoleWeek page that lists roles has its own feed: a city, a role type, remote, a role type in one city, or an employer. Add it to a feed reader, a Slack channel or an email service to see new roles on that page without checking back. No sign-up.

Find a page’s feed

Open the page you want to follow (a city, a role type in a city, or an employer) and choose Get new roles above the list, or Job alerts at the bottom of the page. This page then shows that page’s feed address. You can also paste the page’s address into your feed reader; many readers find the feed on their own. The main feeds are listed at the end of this page.

In a feed reader

Any app that reads RSS or Atom feeds works, on the web, on your phone or on your computer. Add the feed address, and new roles show up as new items.

In Slack

Slack’s RSS app posts new items from a feed into a channel. Add the RSS app to your workspace (your workspace may need an admin to approve it), then type /feed subscribe and the feed address in the channel. These steps follow Slack’s own help pages and may change; Slack checks feeds on its own schedule, so a new role can take a while to appear.

By email

Some services turn a feed into email, either one message per new item or a daily digest. Search for “RSS to email”, give the service the feed address, and choose how often you want mail. Those services are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. RoleWeek has no tie to any of them.

What’s in a feed

Up to 50 of the newest roles on that page, newest first. Each item has the title, the employer, the location, its posted date and a link to the role on RoleWeek. Feeds update when the site does, at least once a day. A role leaves RoleWeek 7 days after it was posted, or sooner if the employer closes it, and then its link stops working.

Each feed comes in two formats: RSS (Atom, for feed readers, Slack and email services) and JSON Feed. If you are not sure, use RSS. For JSON Feed, change the end of the address from .xml to .json.
